Part 1: Imagine Cup = UPNM?

salam manje and hai squad.

sorry for the long lull. im sure, most of readers are waiting, waiting and waiting my next entry kan.. hehe.. rase macam celebrity pulak.. ok.. for this entry, i would like to focus on my squad(pls refer the dictionary for the real meaning of squad); nabil, faiz and zati as well as tuan shah for their imagine cup competition. well, im sure, most of you didnt know what it is the imagine cup is all about.

imagine cup is inspired by microsoft. imagine cup was started since 2003. more than 200,000 students from 173 countries have participated in this competition. each year, the competitors from all over the world will create their own equipment(software, robot, solution, etc) based on the theme given. and this year, the theme is

"imagine a world where technology helps solves the toughest problems facing us today"

the contest spans a year, beginning with local, regional and online contest whose winners go on to attend the global final held in EGYPT this year! fullamak..

with that, UPNM via faculty of defences sciences and technology sent one team to challenges the imagine cup 2009. here is some info about the team known as Medical Dragon.

Title Project: Arrhythmia Detector

About Us: UPNM is a newly established university in Malaysia, with the vision to be a premier institution in the area of military training, education and defense research. we hope to show that we are capable to do project in the medical area even though we are from defence university.

Project Overview: The data entry is a process using a neural network. the result product will be sent to PIC(microcontroller) to be analyzed by the hardware design to display decision type of Arrhytmia in LCD. Besides that, the alarm system will funtion according to the result achieved. the whole process will combine two main process - software and hardware. each part will process different funtions to makethis system useful and achieve its objective. the concept that is used in this project is data analysis on how to predict the Arrhythmias disease. this project also uses the hardware tools on the system alarm using PIC microcontroller. Besides that, this project uses GUI as an interfaces to make it more user-friendly.

How come we come up wiyh this idea?
The statistics in Malaysia show that 1,246,691 malaysian have the Arrhythmia disease. we always take pose of dawdling to these diseases, even though the disease can bring casualities, as the victims are unawareof its existence. to detect the disease, the doctors have to do self analysis of ECG diagrams produced by the Holter Monitor. they are wasring their valuable time just to wait for the result of ECG diagram and analyze it manually. this new system can facilitate the profession of the doctor without wasting their time to analyze the ECG diagram and the result can be produces asap.

supposely, i want to end up this entry with the prize and award received. but, since that this entry is look null with the pictures of the event there, so i decide to make it in another entry k.. Part 2: Imagine Cup = UPNM?.. Paan yang comel tu hang jangan lupe.. hari senin ni bawak gambar2 yang aku mintak tu..

ps: i am among the 50 lucky voters there who walk away with buffolo hard disk 250 GD! anyone jealous with me?
pss: oh yeah.. Arrhythmia Detector = Pengesan sakit Jantong!
